Blazing Affair Company Branding
Blazing Affair is a parody brand of the already existing company Hot Topic inspired by the character Reaper from Overwatch. The similarity of Hot Topic’s color palette is improved with the tan from Reaper’s face mask and less saturated red to create higher contrast between the black and red without being overwhelming as is the case with the original color palette from Hot Topic.
Representative of the target audience of both Hot Topic and Blazing Affair, is the grunge effect that is showcased on the various mockups. While Hot Topic has more recently cleaned up their aesthetic to shift away from grunge, Blazing Affair encompasses this grunge effect to further embrace the culture it is being marketed to.
Lastly, the mixture of corporate mock-ups, like the business cards, bags, stationary, etc. is mixed with the high contrast grunge texture to create a laughable contrast between the cleanliness of Hot Topic’s recent branding changes and its history.
